OMG, they were all so yummy! It was extremely difficult for us to narrow it down to four. The finalists are listed here with corresponding menu number (in no particular order), so you can vote in the poll on the right hand side of the blog. I have taken the liberty of editing the entries to the actual menu only for easier decision making. It is worth reading the original entries, because some of you really got creative with the background of the party, how it should be served, as well as the recipes. If you want to see more, please go to the original post Happy Birthday to Her Royal Hotness, and click on “comments.”

The poll opens today, May 3oth, and the winner will be announced on Sunday June 6th. If you are the lucky winner, please email your street address to jewels@therovingstove.com to receive your copy of Cloak & Dagger Butterfly. Don’t forget to tell your friends and family to sign up to follow the blog so they can vote too! It is simple to do- just click “Follow” on the right hand side of the blog; you will be prompted to use your Google, Twitter, Yahoo, AIM, Netlog or Open ID account. If you do not have one of these, they are free to join – so be sure to sign up with one first. Rest assured, we respect your privacy, we will not share your information, nor will we bombard you with junk mail!

I love your goats cheese dates rolled in bacon and grilled crispy with a drizzle of honey, and what a great idea to use apple slices with the artichoke dip Kim! I'm going to have to give both of these a try, and I'm always a sucker for chocolate dipped strawberries… it satisfies the chocolate craving without eating too much, and the cupcakes balance it really well.ALL of the entries looked really fun and delicious… it was so hard to narrow it to four, and I'm glad I do not have to decide the winner! Good luck to everyone.BTW, we have plenty more competitions and contests planned in the future, so everyone will have more shots at prizes.

All the menus were amazing! Everyone is so good at putting together a table of wonderful dishes that would appeal to more than just ladies. My personal favourite is #4, Kris Hawkins. I love all the wonderful savoury goodies she's put into her luncheon and can picture how it would look all set up on the table as well as what fun it would be to decorate for that luncheon. Good luck Kris! And thank you Julie Anne for putting on this contest, it brought out the "chef" in all of us.

It is fun to do, and I agree with Kim… even more fun when it is fantasy and no work involved. Menu planning is such creative process when you let your mind run wild. It is a good place to start in the recipe writing process too. We should do more of these in the future.

hanks Julie! The goat cheese stuffed dates are soooo good! Be sure to pull the pit of the dates out yourself. The dates that have already been emptied are always drier and tougher. I've made these with vegetrian bacon (Morning Star) turkey bacon and regular bacon, depending on the crowd I'm cooking for. They're all fantastic, depending on your meat preference. And the cool, crisp, sweet apples w/ the warm, salty (from the parm) artichoke dip is divine. Ina Garten from food tv has a really yummy coconut cupcake recipe that I use. I hope you enjoy! :)Kim Phillips Cuccia
