Blind man’s bluff with Rupert Everett
Lisa Borgnes Giramonti atA Bloomsbury Lifetagged me as one of her favorite bloggers. Since Lisa is one of MY favorite bloggers, and I can’t start my day without my mocha lite frappacino while I check out her blog… I am soooooo honored!
The rules are to share 10 random facts about myself and to nominate 7 other bloggers in return. So… at the risk of boring you to to tears…
1). I was born the same year as Barbie. I’ve always found it perplexing that her waist was, is, and will always be smaller than mine!
2). I still have the original Aston Martin (now vintage) Barbie car, but I’m saving my toads for the real breathing person version. Duran Duran base player, John Taylor, gave me a spin in his limited edition one right before Tatjana was born. I was terrified my water would break in the $500,000.00 car… he didn’t seem to mind.
3). If I were on death row and allowed to order any meal I wanted for my last supper… it would be Popeye’s fried chicken. Two SPICY breasts and a buttermilk biscuit to be precise! Exploring the world of fine dining and exotic foods really turns me on, but Popeye’s fried chicken will always be my standard favorite. Forever a hick at heart.
4). The latest cookbook I would love to own is ‘Miss Dahl’s Voluptuous Delights’, but it is only available in the UK at this point (a not so subtle hint for my darling daughter). I’m insanely jealous Sophie has managed to publish TWO cookbooks before I get my first out, but equally thrilled for her!
5). Tessa Dahl helped me name my business ‘The Roving Stove’. She makes the best roast beef. I wish she would move back to the west coast… I miss her.
6). I’m a closet-case photographer that desperately needs to improve her skills. Instruction manuals are not my thing. Wish I had paid closer attention all those years in front of the camera.
7). Next trip: visiting the Taj Mahal with Taj (short for Tatjana). Actually, I also want to go to the Arctic, in spite of the fact that I loath cold weather, to see the polar bears who won’t be around long if we don’t stop destroying our planet!
8). I despise procrastination yet, allow it to plague my life.
9). Cooking isn’t work for me… it’s my meditation (that I’m fortunate enough to be handsomely remunerated for).
10). I think Food Inc. was the most important film of the year, but I secretly preferred watching September Issue. Both should come with a warning… not for the eating disorder inclined.
